When Rodney wears sunglasses he looks like a dork. He knows it, he’s accepted it, he’s moved on. His face is just too round to support most pairs of glasses. It’s why he wears contacts as often as he can.

But when John wears them… when John pulls his aviators out of his breast pocket and slides them up over the bridge of his nose, so cool, so collected, it’s all Rodney can do from falling to his knees before him and…

And…

And Rodney never makes it that far in his day dreams. He’s on his knees, staring up at John in his sunglasses, the sun throwing a glow around his shoulders and by then Rodney is either coming in his hand or is jerked back to reality by some pressing emergency.

“Rodney.”

…on his knees…

“Rodney?”

…a smirk playing across Sheppard’s face…

“Rodney!”

Pressing emergency! “Yeah?”

“You’re staring. Something I can help you with?” One of Sheppard’s eyebrows cocks up over his shades, mouth pursed softly.

On his knees. The sun warm on his upturned face. John before him. “Uh…”

John pulls his sunglasses down with the crook of one finger and is looking at Rodney, really looking at him. “McKay?” His voice is edged with concern.

“Nothing,” Rodney says with too much force, hands waving between them feverently.

John just frowns for a moment, but eventually uses a fingertip to push his sunglasses back up. “Alright then. Let’s check out this energy signature of yours.”

Rodney on his knees, the sun playing off both of them, John looking down with his sunglasses on. Rodney should really allocate some time to figuring out what should happen next.
